The Tantrum

Do you ever have one of those days when you'd like to sell your children on eBay? Today is one of those days for me lol. Last night I didn't get any sleep at all, Logan was up all night because he was itching from his eczema. So because of my lack of sleep, I am already cranky and I had to wake up early to babysit. (why is it your children choose not to sleep on the nights when you have to wake up early?) I had 5 children in the house today, had to run to and from play school, have to pick up Morgan from play practice, make supper and then run her to dance. I feel like a crazy woman with her head cut off! To top off my jam packed day, my youngest decides he is going to throw a 1/2 hour fit about not being able to go to grandma's house. Just when I thought I had had enough, he says, "mom a night night?" Thank God! That was music to my ears! So off to bed he went and now, I finally have a moment of peace :) Ahhhhh-that is the sound of the angels singing lol!

Jayden

Mom, I still want to be a mom when I grow up. I want to be just like you, except not the same hair as you.

Cute things my kids have said

  • Morgan  "did they have desks in the olden days when you went to school?"
  • Morgan "Jayden what do you want to be when you grow up?" Jayden "a mom."
  • Me "Jayden, you're the best big brother ever, thank you for sharing your toys." Jayden "it's nothing."
  • Morgan age 3 "Mom I have an eeskret (secret)" "Look mom a gowie (flower)" "Chrimins lights (christmas lights)"
  • Logan "Mom a tweet (treat)"

Barferella!

I have a love hate relationship with my sick children. I love that they are perky and happy when they are sick, it makes them much more tolerable :) But I hate when you don't even know they are sick until they unexpectedly barf! Like today for example. I had a couple of kids I was babysitting and we had just sat down for lunch. We were talking as usual when all of a sudden Jayden coughs and then barfs out of no where! Unlucky for us, it was all over the kitchen table right in front of our food :(    EWWW!!! Needless to say everyone was all of a sudden too full to finish lunch. Can you blame them lol?

A story from way back

This story is about Morgan. She was about 3 years old at the time and my mom had taken her for a sleep over. They were getting ready for bed and putting their pajamas on together. Morgan looks over at my my mom and says "my mom has boobs like yours but they don't wag like yours do." Oh my gosh! When my mom told me this story the next day I laughed so hard! Nothing like a three year old pointing out your flaws! They are so innocent and don't even take a second thought at saying exactly what's on their minds :)

A cute moment from today

Logan is potty training. He really has no interest in going pee on the potty at all, until today. He was watching his big brother go and decided he wanted to try too. And of course he wanted to stand up just like his big brother :) It's so cute because he is so little, even on his tip toes he can barely reach. So he's standing there trying to push his pee out and he says "not working mom, not working." He decides he doesn't want to put his diaper back on, just his pants. I decide to let this go thinking okay well if he pees in his pants maybe this will get the ball rolling. So maybe an hour later, he comes up to me with his pants half pulled down and says "it's working mom, it's working!" As his pee is streaming onto the floor :) I just love how little kids put their thoughts together, it makes you wonder what goes through their little heads :) It's little moments like these that makes all the bad ones seem to disapear. Embrace those happy little moments!

The Blokus Game

Another story about my Logan (which most of them will be as he is my biggest trouble maker). He is going to be the one to keep me in the emergency room the most. I am surprised he has yet to break a bone, this kid has no fear! Anyway, about a month ago, Logan wants to play with the game Blokus. He begins to bang the board and all the little pieces go flying everywhere. I walk over to him and calmly say "No more banging the board, Mom does not want to clean all of the pieces up. Got it?" He replies "got it." And gives me this sweet smile making me think, wow he is actually going to listen this time :) Well, not to my surprise, as soon as I turn around to walk away, I hear bang bang on the board again. I turn around and more sternly this time I say, "Logan, no more, got it?"  He momentarily stops until I am a little farther away this time. Then ... bang bang. I whip myself around (in the you're in trouble way) and I take a deep breath (because I'm about to yell this time) and Logan gives me this huge ear to ear grin with two thumbs up and says "Got it mom!" All I could retort with was a sigh "No, you don't got it Logan." How am I supposed to yell at this cute face. It took all I had not to smile so as to stay serious so he knew I didn't like this behaviour. And this my friends, is why God makes kids cute for a reason. So that just when you think you are about to lose it, you get a thumbs up "Got it Mom!" And suddenly you remember why you love them so much. :)
